Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will be given the green light to make another mega signing in January, reports the Daily Mirror.

Wenger tried to get Demba Ba in on loan on deadline day but Chelsea blocked the move due to Mourinho not wanting to loan out a player to a rival.

Arsenal's first signing of the summer Yaya Sanogo is yet to start a game for the Gunners due to lack of experience so Wenger is looking to add quality when the window reopens in January.

The north London club are short of options up front but there is serious funds available to the Gunners due to lucrative sponsor deals from Emirates, Puma and Wenger's tight financial control in recent years.

Olivier Giroud is the only fit established striker at the Emirates with Podolski ruled out for up to three months with a hamstring injury and Walcott finding form playing on the wing.

But who will Arsenal go for? The Gunners failed in their attempts to sign Gonzalo Higuain, Luis Suarez and Karim Benzema.

Arsenal are still interested in a January move for Liverpool's Suarez but it is unknown whether Liverpool will be willing to let him go after the Merseyside club were so adamant on keeping him this summer.
