Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain feels Arsenal can still lift the Premier League title, despite their disastrous transfer window.

The 20-year-old midfielder has told the media that everyone at the north London club believes they can win the Premier League title, but I for one believe they cannot.

While there may be a huge amount of belief amongst the squad, there simply isn’t the quality, their starting XI is very good, but they have very little cover; in particular for the right-back, centre-back and striker positions.

Once the season gets into its latter stages, injuries and suspensions will pile up, and teams like Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City and even Tottenham will have more players to rely on.

Olivier Giroud will be vital for Arsenal this season, if he can stay injury-free that will be huge for Arsenal, but if he gets a serious injury Arsenal don’t have a reliable striker to fall back on. Theo Walcott and Lukas Podolski can play there, but their usual positions are out on the wings.

Another factor is that for a team to win the Premier League, they must make their home a fortress, and I believe that the Emirates simply isn’t that; in my opinion the fans are at fault for that. They must stick behind their team, even when times are tough. Arsenal’s fans I believe do not do this, and until they do, Arsenal will continue to struggle to win the title.

One glimmer of hope Arsenal have is their fantastic midfield, they have unbelievable quality in that position in particular, with Santi Cazorla, Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere some of the best players in the league. This could be vital for Arsenal to have a successful season

To conclude, Arsenal have a tough season ahead, it’s not impossible for the Gunners to take the trophy, but it will be a huge challenge.
