Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain - Arsenal
‘The Ox’ will be a crucial part of England’s plans come 2022 and I’d expect him to have moved in-field operating behind the striker where he can be at his devastating best. The Arsenal man will still only be 29 but will be a senior man in the squad in terms of experience.
Danny Welbeck - Manchester United
Welbeck will be 31 and should be the leading man for England’s frontline. With 18 caps to his name already, the Manchester United forward could well be a member of the elusive 100 cap club by the time he gets to Qatar.
Andy Carroll - West Ham United
The giant centre forward will be 33 come Qatar but his physical presence will still give England a different option, albeit probably from the bench.
Adam Campbell - Newcastle
Another graduate of the famous Wallsend boys club, Campbell has drawn comparisons to Wayne Rooney and has represented England throughout the junior levels up to the under-19s.
