Every season Tottenham fans can say that their squad has improved and over the years Tottenham have managed to reduce the the gap between themselves and their North London rivals.
Nevertheless Arsenal have still managed to maintain their qualification for the Champions League sixteen years in a row and mainly at Tottenham's expense.
However we are here to argue the fact that there is cause for optimism over the season for Spurs fans, and here are five reasons on the club from White Hart Lane can beat Arsenal to a coveted Champions League position.
1. Tottenham have better depth in their squad
Despite losing their star talisman Tottenham have invested in seven top class internationals.
This will provide a more balanced edge to the squad and will allow Spurs to compete in other tournaments without sacrificing performances in the Premier League.
In contrast Arsenal have only brought in three players and with long term injuries to Mikel Arteta, Lucas Podolski and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain it highlights a bare-boned Arsenal squad.
