Since the Premier League started in 1992 it has been graced by some of the best current day footballers the world has seen. Today's quiz looks at the leading all-time Premier League goalscorers - how many of these faces can you name?
The Premier League, like everything in life has its ups and downs. Since 1992, two players have amassed a record 34 goals in a season in the Premier League, however in the 1997/98 season and the 1998/99 season, a 'meagre' 18 goals topped the scoring charts. Strangely enough, in both years the 18-goal tally was shared by three players.
Another noteworthy change over the years is the drop in home-grown players making it on to the leading goalscorers lists for the season. Back in 1992/93, Eric Cantona was the only non-English player to make the top ten list, when compared to the 2012/13 campaign, only two English men featured plus a certain world record transfer fee Welshman.
The influx of foreign players over the years though is arguably what makes the Premier League the greatest in the world, attracting some of the best players. And it's difficult to argue with the statistics. In the Premier League's first 10 years, the leading goalscorer was English seven times. In the subsequent 11 years, there hasn't been a single Englishman top the charts.
Enough of the statistics for now, why not have a crack at the quiz and see how many of the all-time goalscorers you can name whilst taking a little trip down memory lane!? Good luck!
