Fresh from being promoted to Arsenal's first-team squad at the tender age of 16, Gedion Zilalem has taken to Twitter to reveal he has suffered a setback.
Zelalem got Arsenal fans excited after a number of impressive pre-season displays showcased how much potential he has.
His performances convinced Jack Wilshere to announce the young star was going to be the next big thing at the Emirates.
Wilshere said to reporters: "It won’t be long before he’s ready. He’s so comfortable on the ball. Even in training he’s a nightmare to play against."
The 16-year-old was included in Arsenal's Premier League and Champions League squad for the upcoming campaign and, after appearing on the bench several times this season, was thought to be close to his competitive debut.
Arsene Wenger has used the Capital One Cup to give his brightest prospects playing time in the past. More recently, as the hunt for silverware gets more desperate, Wenger has used more senior players but it is still thought Zelalem would get his anticipated call-up.
However, the German youngster tweeted this afternoon that he could be out for up to two months with an injury.
He announced: "Out for 6-8 weeks , Will try to use that to my benefit and get stronger #Positives."
