Arsenal made the biggest splash on deadline day, landing Real Madrid superstar Mesut Ozil for £42.5m.

Now, the Premier League might not boast the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi or even Radamel Falcao and Edinson Cavani. But it does host some of Europe's best playmakers.

The likes of Manchester City's David Silva, Chelsea's Juan Mata and Arsenal's own Santi Cazorla are among the best in the Champions League.

Add to the mix a fully fit and functioning Wayne Rooney and the arrival of Christian Eriksen from Ajax and you've got six top, relatively young, attacking midfielders.

So how does Ozil stack up against these soon-to-be rivals. Most people will be familiar with the stat that only Lionel Messi has as many assists as the German in the last two years - but lets delve deeper.
