Liverpool will miss out on the signing of Lacina Traore, after reports surfaced alleging he has agreed a deal with Juventus.
The Express claims that the Serie A champions have agreed a deal with Anzhi for Traore's transfer, despite Liverpool being keen on bringing the striker to Anfield in January.
The 6ft 8in forward has been targeted by a number of big European clubs since Anzhi revealed their intent to offload the majority of their top earners.
Brendan Rodgers has been following his progress for months, and was thought to be interested in making an official move in the next transfer window.
It was Dynamo Moscow boss Dan Petrescu who started the rumours when he was asked if he was interested in signing the 23-year-old giant.
Petrescu said: "I would love to but in January, Lacina will be a Juventus player."
Traore scored 17 times in 36 games for Anzhi last term, but along with the likes of Samuel Eto'o and Willian was marked for sale when the Russian outfit decided to have shake-down of their wage-structure.
Reports have yet to confirm that an official deal has been made between Juve and Anzhi, but it's looking increasingly unlikely that Liverpool will have the chance to sign him after all, as reports claim a £12million deal has been struck.
