It's not an easy task to choose the best XI, between the great variety of players that has played for the club which has stunned the world with their "Tiki Taka" style the last few years.

Barca have produced an impressive amount of attacking players throughout the club's history, so it's no wonder that some huge names will miss the best XI of-all-time.

Formation : 4-4-2

Goalkeeper : Andoni Zubizarreta

Barca's best keeper of-all-time has made 410 appereances for the Catalonian team.
A dependable and consistent shot-stopper, Zubizarreta has won four Spanish championships and the 1992 European Cup with Barcelona. He was also voted as the Spanish Player of the Year in 1987.

Right-Back : Daniel Alves

The tireless wing-back is capable of marauding downfield and playing surprisingly great defence. The Brazilian is an important pillar under the Blaugrana's recent success. He has made 260 appearances, and is considered as one of the best wing-backs of the past few years.

Centre-Back : Ronald Koeman

The Dutchman innovated his position. He didn't have the best defending skills, but he took the centre-back position and made it a weapon. He was a constant threat with his thunderbolt shot and his free-kicks.

Tintin was the man who scored the winning goal for Barca, at the 112th minute of the 1992 European Cup final.

Centre-Back : Carles Puyol

The ultimate leader of Barcelona, is one of their most prolific players and one of their most beloved figures ever. The Catalan is not so much about the cleverness in the game, but he is as lion-hearted and competitive as a defender can be.

Puyol has played 581 times for Barca - and has celebrated six La Liga titles and three Champions League triumphs.

Left-Back : Sergi Barjuan

A strong and intelligent defender, Sergi was partnered with Ferrer in the Johan Cruyff-coached Barcelona's defence, making one the best defensive wing pairs in the world. He wore the Blaugrana shirt 267 times - and won three domestic and two European championships.

Centre-Midfielder : Xavi

Xavi is a provider of quality and longevity in Barcelona's midfield. The engine of Barca is a deep-lying playmaker with perceptive passing and a great talent of balancing and controling the game.

Xavi came through La Masia and has played his whole career for the Catalan side, having made 681 appereances. He is considered as one of the best playmakers in recent history.

Centre-Midfielder : Andres Iniesta

It's hard to imagine the runaway success of recent Barcelona, without Andres Iniesta's contribution. His agility, passing ability and ball control, makes Iniesta eligible to play in all of the midfield's positions, but also in the attacking wings.

Iniesta has played 460 times for Barca - and was a key player to the three Champions League title wins, in 2006, 2009 and 2011.

Right-Midfielder : Johan Cruyff

Johan Cruyff certainly made a bigger impact as a manager than as a footballer for Barca, as he established the philosophy of the team. The Dutchman was also a mastermind in the field though.

Being considered as one the best players of all time, Cruyff won one Spanish league title with the Blaugrana - and wore their shirt 184 times, during his five-year spell.

Left-Midfielder : Ronaldinho

It's both a shame and miracle, that Ronaldinho was at his best for only three seasons.
The Brazilian with the immense talent, was named the FIFA World Player of the Year for two consecutive seasons (2004, 2005).

He led Barcelona to the 2006 Champions League title - and one can say that he brought new FC Barcelona fans, with his creativity on the pitch and his big, infectious smile.

Centre-Forward : Lionel Messi

The absolut reason for the incredible success that the Catalan side has enjoyed the past few years, the 27-year-old is widely considered as the best footballer in the world right now.

With countless individual honours, the Argentinian is an unstoppable record-breaker and probably the most important contributor to Barcelona's history.

Centre-Forward : Romario

In his prime, Romario was one of the prolific and dangerous strikers in the world.
The Brazilian with the impressive technique, quickness and natural goalscoring instincts, won one La Liga title during his short spell for the Blaugrana - and is regarded as one of the best centre-forwards ever.
