Everton manager Roberto Martinez has revealed his delight at the performances of youngster Ross Barkley.
"You can imagine he is really satisfied and excited. The good thing about Ross is he never gets carried away and nothing fazes him. In the same way that he was excited to go away and join England, he is excited about the weekend and to keep growing and learning as a footballer," said Martinez.
Everton host Chelsea on Saturday evening, with on-loan forward Romelu Lukaku forcibly sidelined against his parent club, following a late switch on a dramatic deadline day.
Barkley's form will more than likely earn him a starting place against Jose Mourinho's side, and the Toffee's boss believes the 19-year-old has the right mind-set to go far in the game.
"He is a terrific listener, which you don't get too often in the modern game with young players. We saw what he is capable of doing in the future for England, but he is a young man with incredible potential and we need to keep working at that potential to ensure he has a terrific career," he added.
Everton have drawn all three of their Premier League matches so far this season and will be hoping to double their points tally come Saturday.
Gareth Barry could also make his debut after joining on-loan from Manchester City.
