Arsenal have confirmed that Mesut Ozil will make his debut at the first possible opportunity this weekend after being included in the squad to face Sunderland on Saturday.
Ozil completed a £42.4million swoop for the German international last Monday, with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger nearly trebling the club's previous transfer record to secure a marquee signing on transfer deadline-day.
The 24-year-old has been informed that he will make his Arsenal debut this weekend after joining his new team-mates in training for the first time this morning, according to The Mirror.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger looks likely to start Ozil in an advanced midfield role at the Stadium of Light, with Czech playmaker Tomas Rosicky struggling with an ankle problem.
Wenger has unveiled Ozil as an Arsenal player to the media in a press conference this afternoon, with the former Real Madrid schemer declaring that he is delighted to have made the switch to North London.
He said: "It feels great, I feel very good here. I'm sure the boss will improve me and I'm proud to be part of the team."
"I talked to Per Mertesacker and Lukas Podolski about the club. I've only heard positive things."
Ozil arrives at the Emirates fresh from impressing on international duty in midweek, scoring alongside new club colleague Mertesacker in a 3-0 win over the Faroe Islands.
