The 2012/2013 Cricket South Africa awards evening took place on Monday September 9th at the Sandton Convention Centre in Gauteng.
An evening run-machine Hashim Amla would not forget - bagging four awards, the South African superstar has developed a habit of dominating these type of events.
As captain and Momentum ODI player of the year AB de Villiers said: "Amla has been the rock in the team".
Amla just seems to be flourishing with every game that passes by. There are not many batsmen out there that have the consistency factor Amla has. Many players can score runs but not many can score runs as consistently as the South African.
Averaging 50+ in both the test and ODI arena I think its safe to say the silent warrior's middle of the bat is almost as big as Table Mountain. It has been a brilliant season for the Durban born stroke-maker and his awards show for it. Century after century, the once not-good-enough-for-international-cricket player seems to be too good for international cricket now.
Humbleness and humility are just a few of Amla's attributes - he has remained the same person throughout his career and I believe he definitely won't change.
With his feet on the ground the devout Muslim could break records for years to come. A true role-model for everyone.
