Aleksander Kolarov has committed his future to Manchester City and has denied speculation that he wanted to leave the club over the summer.

Kolarov spoke to the official Manchester City club website and said: "I've always said I was happy here and nothing has changed. I am a professional and I will be looking to win something this year with City."

"There were a lot of stories in the papers over the summer but I never said that I wanted to go."

Juventus were linked with the 27-year-old over the summer, but a move for the £10million valued man failed to materialise.

"I have two more years on my contract at City so my only focus now is to work hard in training and when I get the chance to play, to do my best and show the manager what I can do."

"I am working hard every day but I will respect the decision of the coach whether I play or not – I always give my best.”

Kolarov, who joined Manchester City in 2010 from Lazio, is contracted to the club until 2015.

The Serbia international, who scored a screamer against Wales midweek, is insistent that the club will get used to the new manager's style of play soon.

"We are still getting used to the new coach. There is a change in our style but I think we can do much better than last season."

"We'll be looking to do well in the Premier League and Champions League this time."

"We are working a lot on the defence and I feel like we are improving every day. I think as we get used to the manager's thinking we will be playing at a high level."

The Manchester City full-back scored a screamer for his native Serbia in their 3-0 demolition of Wales during this week's World Cup qualification fixture.
