Japan, Australia, Argentine, Iran, South Korea, USA, Costa Rica, Italy and the Netherlands have already booked their places on the plane to Brazil for the 2014 World Cup.

But for the other teams still embroiled in the qualification process, everything still remains in the balance. Every four years, several teams miss out on competing at the World's biggest tournament. The last time that England failed to qualify for a World Cup was in 1994 when the USA hosted.
