The threatening-looking Dane played on Merseyside for four years, eventually leaving to join the 'Galacticos' at Real Madrid. However, the midfielder returned to Everton on loan from Celtic later on in his career.
Gravesen was rumoured to be in a motorcycle gang back home in Denmark. His on-pitch antics made him look stupid at times, including a spat with Toffee's midfielder Lee Carsley.
However, his passion for the game, and ability to kick people, earned him a place alongside David Beckham and Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu. The midfielder was involved in a confrontation almost immediately as he tried to fight Robinho after the Brazilian embarrassed him with his skills in training.
Throughout his career, Gravesen spent his time on the pitch having arguments with opponents and teammates. This made him a truly entertaining player to watch and definitely one of the Premier League's tough guys.
