The Premier League have awarded both the player and manager of the month award for August to Liverpool pair Brendan Rodgers and Daniel Sturridge.
Liverpool sit at the top of the Premier League table after winning their opening three matches against Stoke, Aston Villa and Manchester United.
They are the only club still with a 100% record and are also yet to concede a goal, having won all three of their games 1-0.
Sturridge has been crucial to Liverpool, having scored the winner in all three matches and has now scored five goals in his last four matches for the Merseyside club.
That form has now seen him win the Premier League player of the month award ahead of other contenders such as Olivier Giroud, who has also scored in every match so far.
A groin problem kept the in-form 24-year-old out of the England squad but is expected to be fit to travel with Liverpool for their Monday night trip to Swansea.
Rodgers has also been rewarded for guiding the Anfield club to the top of the Premier League. Rodgers joined Liverpool from Swansea last season and, after starting poorly last season, has seen his fortunes change.
With Luis Suarez's return imminent, Rodgers will be confident of going from strength-to-strength with this Liverpool squad.
Former Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier believes Rodgers is the man to bring success back to Anfield.
He told Sky Sports: "I like his passing game and also their results this season. They're top of the league and I hope they can stay there for as long as possible.
"I was impressed by their solid resilience and team spirit. When you win 1-0 you can't say the result is easy; you've got to fight and they've showed they're capable of doing that."
