5. David de Gea (Manchester United)

The 22-year-old Spanish keeper moved to Old Trafford in 2011 from Atletico Madrid for a fee in the region of £17million.  

Took time to adapt to the English style of play, experts had been highly critical of his performances for the Red Devils in the start, although he has now completely settled and is coming up with exceptional saves both in league and European competitions.

Had a tremendous UEFA European U21 Championship campaign and Spanish coach Vicente del Bosque sees him as the true successor of Iker Casillas for the national team.

Started the current season on a high,averaging as many as 4.3 saves each game will truly add quality to both club and country in the seasons to come.
