Felipe Massa has revealed that he has held talks with Lotus and McLaren ahead of his exit from Ferrari.
The Brazilian is due to leave Ferrari after eight years with the Italian outfit after he was let go, to be replaced by former Ferrari driver and world champion, Kimi Raikkonen.
Raikkonen's exit from Lotus was hardly clean as they remained defiant that they could keep the Finnish driver up until the very end. They seemed to have moved on though with Massa stating that the contact with Lotus was 'very good'.
“We are negotiating. In my opinion, Lotus has a competitive car, which is what I want," he said to Globo Esporte.
“We are having many conversations to try to find a way, not only for me but for Lotus, to continue with a good car.”
“I’ve had contact with McLaren but I cannot judge, it’s hard to say. With Lotus, the contact was very good,” he added.
Lotus are yet to confirm either member of their 2014 line-up with a multitude of drivers looking to make the step-up and the future of Romain Grosjean is in doubt.
