Manchester City defender Matija Nastasic says that his side's goalless draw with Stoke on Saturday was a good result.
With many City defenders either rested or injured the Serb played alongside Javi Garcia in central defence at the Britannia Stadium.
And the 20-year-old said that with tiredness and fitness issues, the Sky Blues came away with a decent point.
"For every team it is difficult to play here, for us as well. After the national team, it is difficult because players are very tired," Nastastic told the Manchester Evening News.
"The manager is looking at who is fit for the game.
"We played with six different players. I think we played well but we need to improve and score a goal when we have the chance.
"This point is good for us and now we are looking forward.
"In defence, it is difficult when we change the partnership every game. We did a good job but we need to play a lot of games, then it is looking better and better."
Manchester City will hope to be boosted by the return of captain Vincent Kompany as they travel to the Czech Republic for Tuesday's Champions League opener against Viktoria Plzen.
As well as the Belgian they have also been without Martin Demichelis, Micah Richards and Gael Clichy at the back.
And their shock loss to Cardiff City in the second game of the Premier League season outlined some potential defensive frailties.
The draw with Stoke puts City on seven points from four games ahead of next weekend's Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium.
