Manchester United playmaker Shinji Kagawa is back in training ahead of the Red Devils Champions League tie against Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday.

Kagawa has endured a frustrating time at United, since arriving in a £17M deal in June last year, but he could be in contention to start his first game of the season when United host the German side.

The midfielder has struggled to tie down a regular place in the United team, and he has rarely featured in his favoured central attacking midfield role. Additionally, he has succumbed to injury for even months at a time and is still adapting to the physicality of English football.

His frustration at United has corresponded with the arrival of Moyes, although the Scot has claimed the main reason for Kagawa's lack of match action so far is down to his exertions on international duty for Japan.

Kagawa will be looking to make an instant impression to his new manager if he is given the chance from the start against Leverkusen, who are a team that he knows all too well after stint in Germany for Borussia Dortmund.

An impressive performance in that match might also put Kagawa in serious contention to start against Manchester City on Sunday.
