Four NFL Centers have been signed up to endorse Dollar Shave Club's new product, One Wipe Charlies, a flushable wet tissue.
The product was launched in June and centers, Travis Frederick (Dallas Cowboys), John Sullivan (Minnesota Vikings), Eric Wood (Buffalo Bills) and Nick Hardwick (San Diego Chargers) have signed on to promote the company's "Clean Snap" ad campaign.
Dollar Shave CEO Mike Dublin said that: "Everybody's got their eye on the center's ass all season long. That's why we picked them. They have to keep that area clean, not just on the field but off the field."
The campaign's tagline is: "Every great play starts with a clean snap" and every time the company see's a tweet with #cleansnap they will donate $1 to each of the centers chosen charities.
While Dublin wouldn't reveal how much he's paying the centers he did say, with a laugh: "Let's say they're more affordable than the quarterback."
Leigh Steinberg, CEO of Leigh Steinberg Sports & Entertainment, said that if they're getting paid more than $10,000 then they're "getting a good deal".
Steinburg noted that top quarterbacks like Peyton and Eli Manning "won't get out of bed for less than $75,000."
