Chelsea winger Eden Hazard has called for a quick response from his teammates, urging them to bounce back from Saturday's defeat at Everton with a victory in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The Blues begin their 2013/14 European campaign with the visit of last season's Europa League semi-final opponents FC Basel, having gone three games without a victory in all competitions.
Basel will be a difficult test for Jose Mourinho's men, but Hazard believes the players can utilise their home advantage at Stamford Bridge, in order to get off to the perfect start in Group E.
"We need to win because Chelsea is a big club and if we lose two games it's very bad for us," the Belgian is quoted by the Daily Mirror.
"If we'd scored in the first half at Everton it would have been different. Now we need to work in training to help us beat Basel."
Mourinho is likely to have a fully-fit squad to choose from for the midweek encounter, with the major selection dilemma facing the Portuguese coach again based around who to play up front, with Samuel Eto'o and Fernando Torres vying for a starting spot.
Chelsea predicted starting XI:
Cech; Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Cole; Ramires, Mikel, Lampard, Oscar, De Bruyne, Torres.
