The Champions League comes roaring back in to action this week with four English clubs vying to go all the way.

Both Manchester United and Manchester City get their campaigns under way tonight against Bayer Leverkusen and Viktoria Plzen respectively in the group stages whilst Chelsea and Arsenal play tomorrow.

English clubs are always among some of the favourites to win the title each and every year. In the last nine Champions League finals, there have been a total of eight English clubs represented and three winners.

However, things don't always go so well for the English teams on the continent. In fact, some results can represent real shockers for the clubs in question.

Here we look at five games where English representatives were positively humbled by Europe's finest...and sometimes not so finest.
