Wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson can expect to spend more time on the pitch in coming weeks according to reports on NFL.com.
Patterson was a first round draft pick for the Vikings but has been afforded limited opportunities despite impressing during the off season.
Having been involved in just eleven snaps in the Vikings opening two fixtures, Patterson has already delivered one of the moments of the season, running the length of the field to produce a 105-yard kick off return touchdown in Sunday's defeat to Chicago Bears.
And now Minnesota head coach Leslie Frazer has hinted that Patterson's number 84 shirt, a tribute to Randy Moss, will be seen on the pitch a lot more. He told NFL.com: "He definitely deserves to be on the field more. He's shown that in the few snaps he's gotten in these first two ball games."
"We want to get him on the field. He's one of our explosive players, for sure."
The Vikings were thought to be keen to ease the 22-year-old into the team slowly, but after defeats in their opening two fixtures Patterson will no doubt feature more heavily when the Cleveland Browns travel to Minnesota in week three.
