Currently managed by Andre Villas-Boas, Tottenham are in a very strong position.

With a fantastic mix of promising youth and experienced pros, Villas-Boas will be looking forward to next season.

First of all though, they will have to make the top four of the Premier League, and I believe they have the quality to do that, with Roberto Soldado, Erik Lamela and Christian Eriksen just three of the many to make the move to White Hart Lane over the summer.

After the sale of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid for a world record breaking fee of £86million, Spurs are financially very comfortable. This, along with a fantastic chairman and a creative manager, suggests Spurs are on the way up.

While many Spurs fans are rueing the sale of Bale, I feel it should be a time for celebration, having just signed the aforementioned Eriksen and Lamela, both of whom in my opinion have the potential to surpass Bale’s quality.

I believe that the next few years could be vital for Tottenham. If they don’t make the most of what they have right now they could slip back down to mid-table finishers, but if they play their cards right Tottenham could become a major footballing power.

This though I feel won’t happen in the next two seasons. Right now they don’t have the strength in depth that is needed to compete in the Champions League. While they have a fantastic starting XI, once they start to pick up injuries and suspensions they will find they don’t have the quality to compete at the highest level.

To conclude, I believe that Tottenham can become one of the best, but if they are going to they must act on what they already have.
