A look at some of the french players in the Premier League who I feel are the best from their country.
Patrice Evra - Manchester United
Being at possibly the most successful Premier League club since 2005, Patrice Evra has been a fantastic servant to Manchester United.
With over 200 appearances for the club, Evra has lit up England with his defensive abilities but also his eye for attack, and his booming runs forward either to provide an assist or even looking for a goal.
Usually over-looked in Premier League XIs by Ashley Cole or Leighton Baines, Evra is possibly the best French defender in the Premier League.
At 32, he is still starting on the field with the Red Devils, and has already picked up two clean sheets in United's first four games.
Olivier Giroud - Arsenal
Currently the Premier League's tied top scorer, Giroud has managed four goals in Arsenal's first four games.
With undoubtedly having a greater start in his second season than last year, Giroud is looking to be more and more comfortable in England's top flight.
The Frenchman is dangerous in the air and with a world class array of midfield talents playing behind him, he is spoilt with opportunities to continue hitting the net for the Gunners.
Hugo Lloris - Tottenham Hostpurs
Sitting in the goal of a team which has sold Gareth Bale and replaced him with seven new signings, Lloris is now surrounded by a squad which truly lives up to his talents.
A team that can now be feared by all teams across England and Europe, Lloris is a key member of their success.
Picking up three clean sheets in Spurs' first four matches of the new campaign, he has formed a great partnership with Jan Vertonghen and Michael Dawson, making their defence much stronger than last season.
Making 25 appearances last season and replacing veteran Brad Friedel who had accumulated 310 consecutive games in the Premier League, Lloris has a lot to live up to and it seems as if he's on track to fill those shoes and do even better.
Hatem Ben Arfa - Newcastle
A quick and skilful winger, Ben Arfa on his day could embarrass some of the Premier League's most talented defenders.
With a rather quiet campaign last year as Newcastle were almost relegated to the Championship, Ben Arfa seems to be the man who is turning Newcastle's season into a successful one.
Helping his team pick up two clean sheets as well as scoring twice in four games, Ben Arfa is driving Newcastle forward in the hope that they won't repeat the events of last season.
The man who is convinced he could win the Ballon D'or is surely one of the top French talents.
Sylvian Distin - Everton
At the heart of one of the strongest defences in the Premier League, Distin has made over 100 appearances for Everton and alongside Phil Jagielka and the other incredible defenders at Everton, he is a sheer rock at the back.
A nightmare for strikers, he uses his physicality and aerial ability to take on even the best of strikers.
Distin along with his fellow team-mates have picked up three clean sheets in their last three matches and are looking as good as ever. The 35-year-old is without a doubt a talented centre-back and has been a fantastic player in the Premier League.
There are of course other Frenchmen who could've made this list in the likes of Samir Nasri, Bakary Sagna and Laurent Koscielney however these five are the ones that are most impressive to me. Whether young or old, these players are all giving it their all for their respective clubs and should continue to shine in the top division of English football.
