GMS Academy Member James Andrew casts his eye over the best of the summer signings in the Premier League.

Mesut Ozil - £42.5 Million

Arsenal finally made their big money signing in the form of Mesut Ozil on the transfer deadline day and by his debut against Sunderland he has proved to be worth every penny. His first touch and pass to put Giroud in on goal was exceptional and the German has shown why he has the most assists in Europe. He will slot in very nicely in the Arsenal set up with the likes of Walcott and Giroud around him.

Rating - 9.5/10

Christian Eriksen - £12 Million

Eriksen had an excellent debut for Tottenham and had a major part to play in both of Gylfi Sigurðsson's goals. In addition the 21-year-old Danish man has 39 caps for Denmark already and has played multiple times for Ajax in the Champions League. Eriksen seems to be one of the captures of the summer and at a bargain price. He may be that key which Tottenham have needed to unlock defences.

Rating - 9/10

Simon Mingolet - £9 Million

The Belgian shot-stopper began his Liverpool career superbly with a saved penalty in order to seal the three points for his team against the defensively sound Stoke. Filling the gloves of Pepe Reina was never going to be easy however Mignolet has proved he is a top goalkeeper who may help Liverpool get back into the Champions League.

Rating - 8/10

Samuel Eto'o - £7 Million (Estimated - Undisclosed Fee)

The former Barcelona had a mixed debut against Everton where he put his speed and acceleration into the question having looked fairly slow, this is a concern as his pace was one of his key attributes which once earned him the reputation of one of the best strikers in the world.

Rating - 4/10

Nathan Redmond - £3.2 Million

Redmond has shined for Norwich in the opening games for the Premier League side, getting on the score sheet for his club. He has looked a good dribbler of the ball and his pace has made him very direct. Furthermore, he is a very good England prospect for the future.

Rating - 7.5/10
