'Saint' George Groves Sky Sports have confirmed that he has indeed split from trainer Adam Booth.

Groves is scheduled to fight for Carl Froch's super middleweight world titles on 23rd November at the Phones 4U Arena in Manchester, tickets sold out in 11 minutes. However, soon after Tuesday's press conference rumours began to surface of a split between Groves and Booth.

Those rumours have been confirmed so Groves will need to appoint a new trainer very soon indeed to help him prepare for the biggest night of his career.

It seems like a strange time for the pair to split really as Groves is a clear underdog going into the bout with Froch. What chance he was given by most experts in the game was dependent on Adam Booth coming up with one of his famous game plans that have seen both Groves and David Haye emerge from difficult bouts victorious.

Whoever Groves does have in mind needs to be able to have a quick impact with Groves if he is to stand any chance with a top champion like Froch.

Groves' upcoming bout with Carl Froch can be seen live on Sky Sports Box Office on Saturday 23rd November.
