Premier League: Top five strikers so far

So far the season a few strikers have stood out in the Premier League after the opening month of the season. 

So, here's an early look at five of the best strikers in the league so far: 

5. Wilfried Bony - Swansea

Swansea paid £12 million for Bony and so far he has shown glimpses of brilliance an example being his composed finish against Manchester United in their first game. He seems to have formed a solid partnership with attacking midfielder Michu and looks the part to become a top striker. 

4. Christian Benteke - Aston Villa

The Aston Villa striker is one of the top scorer in the Premier League with four goals in four games. He is a strong quick forward who is composed in front of goal. Last season he solely kept Villa from the drop and many wondered whether he could keep up his form but he has proved doubters wrong so far this season.

3. Olivier Giroud - Arsenal

The Frenchman has scored four goals this season, joining Benteke at the top scorers in the League. He never looked the part last season however he looks rejuvenated this season with some good finishes one of the finest being his goal against Tottenham. With Ozil behind him he should be be scoring regularly.  

2. Robin van Persie - Manchester United

Van Persie had a fine first season as United, winning the Premier League Golden Boot with 26 goals. The Dutchman seems to be continuing his form and has proved in the Community Shield against Wigan he plans to keep up his good form. His finishing has shown he is one of the best strikers in the Premier League, as his goal against Swansea proved. 

1. Daniel Sturridge - Liverpool

The 24-year-old forward has played superbly so far this season managing to fill the suspended shoes of Suarez after his biting incident. Suarez scored 23 goals and was Liverpool's best player last season.

Sturridge has found the net four times as well as Benteke and Giroud however he has played well all around an seen to it that Liverpool are at the top of the table, without Sturridge Liverpool would have been in serious trouble with Suarez injured.
