World number 100 Kyren Wilson is through to the quarter-finals of the Shanghai Masters, after beating Marco Fu 5-3 in the last 16 at the Grand Stage.
Having already knocked out Premier League champion Stuart Bingham this week, the 21-year-old from Northamptonshire added the Australian Open winner to his list of scalps and will now play Michael Holt in the last eight.
Wilson fell behind as Fu made a 50 in the opening frame, but he responded immediately with a run of 65 before a 133 in frame four put him 3-1 ahead.
World number 11 Fu then brought the contest level with solid visits of 71 and 98; however there was no denying the youngster of his first ever quarter-final appearance at a circuit as he won the next two game to progress.
In Holt he now faces a player making his sixth appearance in the last eight of a ranking event, but has never gone further.
