The Germans have developed a bit of a habit for producing talented young midfieders, and Lewis Holtby fits into that category perfectly, unfortunately for him, Spurs have an abundance of talented young midfielders.
The summer arrivals of Christian Eriksen and Nacer Chadli have inevitably caused people to discuss the future of Holtby and we can see why.
Already a full German international, Holtby is the son of a former British soldier and would no doubt be on the plane to Brazil had he chosen to play for the Three Lions. However, there's a little bit more competition for places in Joachim Low's squad.
If Holtby, who can play anywhere across the midfield, is to work his way into World Cup contention he should consider a move away from Tottenham in January, with Roma reportedly being interested.
