Chelsea starlet Nathaniel Chalobah is set to snub interest from Gianfranco Zola's Watford to sign for Championship outfit Nottingham Forest on loan, according to the Daily Mail.
The 18-year-old teenage sensation - who caught the eye with a string of impressive displays on loan with Watford last season - has been trailed by a whole host of clubs, but it's Billy Davies' side who look to have landed the in-demand midfielder.
Despite having signed a new five-year contract back in August, Blues boss Jose Mourinho wants Chalobah to continue his football development elsewhere, with the City Ground considered to be the perfect environment for the combative midfielder to gain further first-team experience.
Speaking after penning his new long-term contract, Chalobah told Chelsea's official website: "It is great that Chelsea are willing to give me such a long contract, it is a big confidence boost.
"I think I have developed a lot as a player but I know I must continue to improve to earn a place in the Chelsea team and with my future settled, I can concentrate on doing that.
"Watford was a great experience, I learned about playing in front of a crowd every game and so many other lessons that there are too many to list.
"Training with Jose Mourinho and the Chelsea squad this pre-season, every session has been different with something new to take on board. I've enjoyed it a lot.
"I would like to thank all the coaches who have helped me throughout my time at Chelsea."
During his season-long loan at Vicarage Road, Chalobah was a stand-out performer for the Watford in their promotion-chasing campaign, which saw Zola's men fall at the final hurdle in their pursuit of Premier League football.
Crystal Palace took the sting out of the Hornets' tail by beating them in the playoff final back in May - but that experience has only served to improve Chalobah further.
Tipped as a future England international, the wiry and technically-gifted midfielder is widely regarded to be one of the most promising academy products in England.
As Forest close on one of Chelsea's top prospects, with Zola backing Chalobah to succeed Frank Lampard at Stamford Bridge, Mourinho will be monitoring the progress of his young charge closely, as he attempts to force his way into the first-team picture with the west London outfit.
