One of the most famous red cards in football history was awarded to the world's most famous footballer, David Beckham, at the 1998 World Cup finals.

The Manchester United winger kicked out at Argentina's Diego Simeone, resulting in a red card which haunted Beckham for years.

However, the youngster went on to captain his country before completing his redemption by scoring the winning penalty against Argentina four years' later.
