1. Zinedine Zidane v Italy | World Cup 2006

And so to the most shocking red card in football history, issued to France legend Zinedine Zidane for his astonishing head-butt on Italy's Marco Materazzi at the 2006 World Cup final.

Not only was this the World Cup final, but this was also the final game of Zidane's illustrious career.

One of the most iconic images in World Cup history is of the dejected Zidane walking past the World Cup trophy and to the dressing room.

It's fair to say he went out with a bang.
