Theo Walcott claims the current Arsenal side is ready to step up to the plate and win the Premier League this season.

Walcott deems this young and talented squad as one with an irresistible spirit which will guide them to glory.

Arsenal have been waiting to lift a trophy since winning the FA Cup in 2005 and with the current crop of players there is genuine belief that they can finally end that eight-year trophy-less drought.

Speaking about his sides prospects Walcott said: "I think we'll push on and we can definitely challenge this year, for sure".

"There is so much belief in this team at the moment and I think it's showing. We just need to make sure we get that home form going now, the away form is absolutely fantastic".

"It's 10 successive wins away from home, someone told me in the dressing room. It's a record. I didn't know that until after the game".

"To be part of a team that has done that, in the amount of years that Arsenal have existed, is a great honour and great achievement for everyone".

"It just shows how good and talented these players are".

WIth key players still due to return, it can be said that Arsenal have done pretty well thus far and it is now a matter of consistency and maintaining that form and resilience which helps big teams achieve big things.

It is important for the Gunners not to get too carried away however and just keep doing what they've been doing up to this point as this year's Premier League will be a very close affair, with six teams in the mix to win it.
