Manchester United new boy Marouane Fellaini has told Cristiano Ronaldo he will regret not sealing a return to Old Trafford.
Ronaldo was linked with a move back to Manchester United over the summer but decided to commit his long-term future to Real Madrid by signing a new five-year deal at the Santiago Bernabeu.
However Red Devils midfielder – a £27.5million summer signing from Everton – believes Ronaldo has made a mistake in rejecting the Premier League champions.
Fellaini, speaking to the Daily Mail, said on Ronaldo’s decision: “If Ronaldo has made it clear he won’t be coming here, that’s just too bad for him!
“I feel great at this club, and when I see supporters turning up for games wearing a (Fellaini) wig, it makes me feel even better.
“It is funny to see that, but very pleasing as well. It makes me want to do all I can for them on the pitch, and that’s what I will do.”
The 25-year-old also praised Manchester United’s senior stars for helping him to settle into life at Old Trafford.
“I am surrounded by better players, with more quality and better technique, and they have also demonstrated how much they care about me settling in quickly,” added Fellaini.
“They have gone to the trouble of spending time with me and offering advice, talking through any questions I wanted answering.
“The experienced players have been great with me, but others have played a part as well.
“They all have, and I appreciate it. It has helped me feel at home.”
Fellaini, has so far, made a substitute appearance against Crystal Palace and was handed his first start by David Moyes against Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday.
The Belgium international is expected to start Manchester United’s weekend clash against arch-rivals Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
