When a Premier League footballer retires from the beautiful game they usually either step away from the game completely, go into punditry or begin their coaching courses to become a qualified football coach.

Some former players fail to make the grade in coaching and others have made the transition from playing to coaching with relative ease - with new Manchester United manager David Moyes being a prime example.
