Manchester United and Manchester City are ready to battle over the signature of Barcelona star Andres Iniesta, according to The Daily Star Sunday.
The two clubs, who go head-to-head in the Manchester derby today, are both keen on bringing the playmaker to Manchester.
And, with Iniesta understood to be disappointed with the Catlans' latest contract offer to keep him at the club, he could now seek a move away from the Nou Camp.
The Spanish international believes he should be the second highest player at the club - behind World Player of the Year Lionel Messi - but a deal worth £200,00-a-week has not convinced the star to sign on in Spain.
Although Barcelona still remain confident that they can tie up a deal for their star, United and City could be set to step up their interest in the player in the near future.
However, a host of other top European clubs could also enter the race for the Spaniard, with the likes of Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Arsenal and PSG also interested.
