I take a look at which countries want to host a part of the 2020, which is going to be held in different countries around the continent.
Possibly the first in a new kind of international tournament, 2020 will be held at various different destinations around Europe, but will this help or hinder the tournament.
Potential hosts were given until last week to make it known they want to host a part of the tournament.
32 different countries have entered possible cities for games to be hosted, these countries are:
Armenia (Yerevan), Azerbaijan (Baku), Belarus (Minsk), Belgium (Brussels), Bulgaria (Sofia), Croatia (Zagreb), Czech Republic (Prague), Denmark (Copenhagen), England (London), Finland (Helsinki), France (Lyon), Macedonia (Skopje), Germany (Munich), Greece (Athens), Hungary (Budapest), Israel (Jerusalem), Italy (Rome or Milan), Kazakhstan (Astana), Netherlands (Amsterdam), Poland (Warsaw and Chorzow), Portugal (Lisbon or Porto), Republic of Ireland (Dublin), Romania (Bucharest), Russia (St Petersburg), Scotland (Glasgow), Serbia (Belgrade), Spain (Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao or Valencia), Sweden (Solna), Switzerland (Basel), Turkey (Istanbul), Ukraine (Kiev or Donetsk) and Wales(Cardiff).
The required stadium capacities are, 70,000 for the semi-finals and final, 60,000 for the quarter final, and 50,000 for the group stage. Two acceptations will be made for 30,000 capacity stadiums.
This means the only potential cities for the semi-finals and final are, Barcelona, Madird, London and Milan, any one of these have a strong case for the final, but as a Brit, I would love to see the final played at Wembley.
Comment where you think the final should be held.
