David Moyes this week claimed Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney should be good for 40 goals a season as a partnership and believes they could be the most dangerous combination in the Premier League.

While Van Persie’s form over the past two seasons has undoubtedly been outstanding, he and Rooney haven’t gelled quite so well as many though they would.

There are a few other pairings in the Premier League that could also have a claim for being the most dangerous in the Premier League and a couple that look like they could play a key role in where the title ends up come May.

GMS have picked out five of the pairs that we believe possess the most danger to opposition defences in England.
