Manchester United outcast wants Old Trafford future

Federico Macheda has not give up hope of securing a future at Manchester United, despite failing to establish himself as a regular for the Red Devils.

The striker, who burst onto the scene as a 17-year-old in 2009 with key goals against Aston Villa and Sunderland, has been shipped out on loan on a number of occasions in the past couple of years.

The now 22-year-old has had spells around Europe at Sampdoria, QPR and Stuttgart in recent time and is currently plying his trade in the Championship at Doncaster.

However, despite struggling at Old Trafford, Macheda is yet to give up on his Red Devils career, as he told the Daily Star: "I'm not giving up on anything. I'm here to show everyone what I can do and who I am.

"I've got nothing to prove - except to myself. I want to enjoy myself playing football, then we will see in the future what happens.

Macheda has also thanked current Doncaster boss Paul Dickov for showing faith in him, as he continued by saying: "The manager has been chasing me for a long time. I came here because of him and I wanted to thank him.

"It's thanks to him I have my confidence back. Hopefully I can stay until January."

The Italian struck a brace on his debut for the Championship outfit in a 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest this past weekend and will hope to continue his fine form.
