Argentine midfielder breaks teeth after headed slide-tackle

This was never going to end well for Argentinos midfielder Gaspar Iñiguez.

The 19-year-old Argentine made the split-second decision to use his head instead of his legs to slide-tackle a Boca Juniors opponent - and, needless to say, he came off second best.

It turns out he really should have used his head a little more before launching himself, John Terry-style, into one of the most ludicrous tackles we can remember.

The brave but bonkers Iñiguez broke three of his teeth in the collision and, to further compound his misery, the referee then showed him a yellow card - presumably for endangering himself rather than his opponent, who picked himself up off the deck after a couple of theatrical rolls.

The game ended minutes later with the deadlock unbroken - so perhaps a little part of Iñiguez will feel that the pain was worth it when he wakes up with a sore mouth this morning.
