Manchester United legend Gary Neville believes Manchester City have set the standard in the Premier League after their convincing 4-1 victory against the Red Devils yesterday afternoon.
Goals from Samir Nasri, Yaya Toure and a brace from Argentine Sergio Aguero helped the Citizens to a 4-1 victory against their local rivals, and Neville believes Manuel Pellegrini's side are now the team to beat.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Neville said: "I think generally the quality so far this season has been poor.
"What we have seen today is a performance worthy of the Premier League and to be fair, I think Manchester City have set the standard for everybody else."
Neville continued by praising the performance of the City team and believes David Moyes' team just couldn't cope with their neighbours.
The ex-United right-back also highlighted the performances of Yaya Toure and Vincent Kompany after they dominated the Old Trafford outfit.
He continued by saying: "I don't think you can even say that United were bad - they just got driven back by Toure, by Vincent Kompany. It was just a brilliant performance from City."
Manchester United will be hoping for an immediate response as they host Liverpool in the League Cup on Wednesday, while City take on Wigan Athletic at the Etihad in a repeat of last year's FA Cup final.
