Much of the talk prior to Sunday's Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium concerned two managers who were both preparing for their first taste of this keenly-anticipated fixture.

David Moyes, the former Everton boss, and Chilean Manuel Pellegrini had each endured mixed fortunes during their first few months in charge of the title rivals and both knew that a victory in this emotive clash would considerably boost their fortunes.

As it was, any hopes of a close and subsequently tense encounter were dashed as the home side cruised to a comfortable 4-1 victory over their fiercest foes courtesy of a brace from Sergio Aguero and additional strikes from Yaya Toure and French midfielder Samir Nasri.
