Sergio Aguero has praised his Manchester City team-mates who romped to a 4-1 victory against fierce rivals Manchester United in this weekend's spectacular clash.
The Argentinian took his tally to an impressive five goals in six derbies after scoring two volleys in this weekend's derby. Aguero has shrugged off suggestions he was Manchester City’s match day star claiming everybody in the City squad should be considered a hero.
The 25-year-old striker told City’s official website: “All the team were brilliant. We're all one team. There are no individual heroes -- we are all heroes, even the players on the bench.”
Aguero admitted the comfortable scoreline took him and his team mates by surprise: “We didn't expect it but we were really motivated and that led us to the victory.
“The most important thing is to give all you have. The confidence and the attitude the team had was very good and, in the second half, despite winning 2-0, we kept playing like that.”
Aguero’s stunning opener brought particular praise the former Atletico Madrid star said: “It was a beautiful goal but the most important thing was the team won three points.”
Maneul Pellegrini's men were in magnificent form as they completely outclassed United at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
Yaya Toure doubled the lead on the stroke of half-time before Aguero and Samir Nasri added two more in the opening minutes of the second half.
Sergio Aguero wanted the praise for the 4-1 demolition of Manchester United to be shared around the team.
