AS Monaco and Manchester City have been linked with a summer move for Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes, according to Sky Sports.
The 31-year-old is set to leave Camp Nou at the end of the season, upon the expiry of his contract, having declared his desire to experience new cultures and different languages, after spending his entire 13-year career in Spain.
Citizens boss Manuel Pellegrini has been credited with an interest in bringing Valdes to the Etihad Stadium, despite the fact he is well stocked in that area of his squad, with Joe Hart and Costel Pantilimon currently available for selection.
Ligue 1 big-spenders AS Monaco are also believed to be monitoring the Spain international's situation, and are ready to make a rival offer for his services, should Manchester City make an approach.
Valdes will be free to talk to foreign clubs when the transfer window reopens in January, when he'll have entered the final six months of his deal.
