It's not up there with the greatest debuts ever but it certainly made us laugh, and that's all that matters, right?

Mathias Kouo-Doumbé was making his first appearance for Northampton against Mansfield over the weekend when he somehow managed to score a spectacular 30-yard volley own-goal.

We'll let the 33-year-old tell you exactly what happened.

"I didn’t want to take any chances," he said. "I tried to clear it for a throw in, because I wasn’t sure where the striker was and whether he was close to me or not. It’s not a dream debut I was looking for."

Kouo-Doumbé's beauty compares favourably with some of our favourite own goals, including Carl Jenkinson's lob against Koln and Lee Dixon's spectacular chip against Coventry back in 1991 - but is it the best you've ever seen?

We want to know your favourite ever own-goal so leave a comment below!
