La Liga giants Barcelona are reportedly interested in bringing Chelsea full-back Cesar Azpilicueta to the Nou Camp.

Manager Gerardo Martino would be willing to make an active move for the Chelsea defender should current fringe player Martin Montoya leave the club in January, with Premier League outfits Liverpool and Arsenal also interested.

Although Barcelona have Dani Alves as their current first choice right-back, the Brazilian is now 30-years-of-age, and will have hit his peak.

This means that 24 year-old Azpilicueta could make an ideal replacement, with the Spaniard having La Liga experience from his time with Osasuna.

Azpilicueta was regularly used by Rafael Benitez last season, but Jose Mourinho has given the former Marseille man only one brief substitute appearance this season.

And with the form of current right-back Branislav Ivanovic showing no signs of slipping, it could be a while before Azpilicueta gets his chance to shine in the Chelsea first-team once again.

Azpilicueta will be keen for regular football with the World Cup just around the corner, and the 24-year-old will need consistent playing time if he hopes to force his way into Vicente del Bosque's talented side.
