Gareth Bale's home debut for Real Madrid next weekend is still in doubt according to The Guardian.
Bale was set to make his first appearance at the Bernabeu last night in Madrid's La Liga match against Getafe but, after being named in manager Carlo Ancelotti's starting line-up, the Welshman withdrew after tweaking his thigh in the warm-up.
Having scored on his Madrid debut and featured against Galatasaray in the Champions League last Tuesday there was no signs Bale was feeling any ill-effects of his lack of game time.
The former Tottenham winger has featured in only three competitive matches since May and failed to play a significant part of any pre-season fixtures due to a previous injury.
Tests have reportedly revealed today that £86million man is suffering from 'muscle fatigue', meaning he is likely to miss Madrid's trip to Elche in midweek and potentially Saturday's game against Atletico Madrid.
Speaking after the Getafe match Ancelotti was hopeful the 24-year-old would be fit for the weekend.
The Italian said: "It is difficult to recover in three days, but I am sure he will be ready for the game on Saturday."
