This season has seen a number of baffling selection decisions by some top managers, none more so than Jose Mourinho’s baffling stance at Chelsea over two of his most talented players.

The former Real Madrid manager is not alone, however, as there are more than enough of his counterparts making similarly precarious moves when it comes to picking players.

Whether it be overlooking a top class player for selection or keeping faith with an unreliable star, there have been a few risks taken by managers you would usually expect to be more cautious with areas that could make or break a season.

GMS believe a few bosses around Europe may have left themselves open to criticisms later in the season, should the course they have chosen fail to lead to success.
